Rankins Dragon
- Rankins Dragon is also known as Lawson’s dragon
- They grow to 25-30cm with males growing the biggest
- They can live up 8 years
- Typical weight of 20grams
- Rankins dragons come from Australia
- Rankins dragons are omnivores
- Latin name Pogona henrylawsoni
- Reptile Roadshow has 2 Rankins Dragons
Bearded Dragon
- Not to be confused with the Rankins Dragon, Bearded Dragons are a larger species.
- They grow upto 60cm
- Like the Rankins Dragon, Bearded Dragons also come from Australia
- Lifespan of around 4 to 10 years
- Bearded dragon is named that way because it can enlarge its throat (that resembles beard) when it is threatened or when defending its territory.
- Latin name Pogona Vitticeps
- Bearded dragon is an omnivore
- Bearded dragon are able to regulate its body temperature. They do this by changing the shades of the colour of the skin from light to dark and back again when needed.
